Turkish Rescue Workers Request Aid of Fox 40 Whistles
For Immediate Release
HAMILTON, ONTARIO (August 23, 1999) — While attending the "European Outdoor Trade Show" in Friedrichschafen, Germany, Fox 40 was urgently approached by Rescue workers of the Turkish Earthquake Search and Rescue efforts. The Search Team requested immediate assistance in outfitting more than 500 rescue workers with Fox 40 Safety Whistles in order to assist with their search.
Earthquake Rescue Workers realize that their voice signals often do not carry through the fallen concrete and debris of collapsed buildings. Where Air Horns are used as a signal to evacuate, Fox 40 Whistles are used as a vital piece of communication between rescue workers and earthquake victims.
After hearing the plea for help, Fox 40 International’s Vice President Dave Foxcroft immediately donated stock that was intended for display at the Trade Show, realizing that this effort was much more valuable. "When the aid workers approached us for the whistles, we were immediately willing to assist. Not only did we include the whistles needed, but also neck lanyards, in order to allow the workers the ease of having the whistle being directly attached to their person," Dave Foxcroft said.
Fox 40 Whistles are world renown for their reliability as Safety and Signaling devices and are an extremely important part of the safety equipment used by all rescue teams around the globe.
Many other companies also attending the Trade Show showed their support by donating supplies such as tents, sleeping bags, camping equipment, gloves and flashlights. All supplies are expected to reach the affected region by August 25, 1999.
